Shon Klintchev from Franklin Central School
District entered into the National Association
of Conservation District poster contest in the
10-12 grade division. We are very proud of
Shon who took 3rd place in his division.
This is wonderful. His art teacher, Anne Wood,
worked with the Delaware County Soil & Water Conservation District and NYACD to enter
Shon's poster into the contest. GREAT JOB Shon!!!

Did you know there is a group out there that is trying to change Soil & Water Conservation District Law?
They are trying to change the makeup of the Soil & Water Conservation District Board, make all SWCD's to seven members, make some be elected, to remove Grange board member, to have a fertilizer tax applied, to make the responsibility of Ag. & Mkts. greater. This is just a few of the changes they are drafting. All without SWCD's or NYACD input.
Soil & Water Conservation Districts already work with landowners/farmers to keep NY's soil healthy and water quailty good. They work to educate and provide training landowners/farmers, underserved, along with students to help them all learn the best way to manage and create healthy soil and quality water.
NYACD and the Soil & Water Districts are working together to put a stop to any district law changes they are creating.
